From the iconic Parisian landmarks to the charming streets of Reims and Hauteville, every moment of this journey was like stepping into a fairytale. Here's a glimpse into the unforgettable experience of photographing a beautiful couple's wedding celebration, which began with a departure from Texas and ended with a celebration that lasted until the early morning hours.
A Romantic Engagement Session in Paris
Our adventure began with an exciting flight from Texas to Paris—the city of love—where we met the couple to capture their engagement portraits. As luck would have it, we arrived just days before Bastille Day, and many of Paris’s iconic sights, including the Eiffel Tower, were closed and undergoing cleaning in preparation for the celebrations. While it was a bit of a challenge, it turned into an opportunity to focus on the beauty of other parts of Paris.We started the session at Notre-Dame Cathedral, where the stunning Gothic architecture provided a timeless backdrop for their portraits. The couple’s love and connection were clear in each shot, their smiles lighting up the photos just as the stunning cathedral lit up with history. The combination of their affection and Paris's rich cultural beauty made for some breathtaking wedding photography portraits.
Hauteviller: Champagne, Charm, and a Special Tour
From Paris, we made our way to Hauteviller—the heart of Champagne country. Hauteville is known for its rich history, beautiful vineyards, and fantastic champagne, making it an unforgettable destination for a wedding. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and guided through a small, family-owned champagne co-op by none other than the town's mayor. He gave us an insider’s tour, explaining the meticulous art of creating world-class champagne. The couple was enchanted by the region’s charm, and it was easy to see why they chose this place for their big day. As we explored the vineyards and indulged in some of the finest champagnes, we couldn’t help but appreciate the romantic beauty of this small corner of France. The atmosphere was intimate and magical, setting the perfect stage for the couple’s wedding celebration.
The Wedding: A Ceremony Full of Love
The wedding day arrived, and the excitement was palpable. The ceremony took place at a beautiful, historic venue in Reims, a place that perfectly mirrored the elegance and timelessness of the couple's love. As their wedding photographer, I was privileged to capture every intimate moment—from the bride’s radiant expression as she walked down the aisle to the groom’s look of awe when he saw her for the first time. A Night of Celebration at the Palais Du Tau
Following the ceremony, the celebration continued at Palais Du Tau, a magnificent historical palace in Reims that served as the perfect venue for a reception that lasted long into the night. The reception was a beautiful fusion of cultures, with both Irish and French family members coming together to celebrate. The mix of traditions, food, and lively conversations created an atmosphere of pure joy and festivity. As the night wore on, the dancing began, and it didn’t stop until 4 a.m. The energy was contagious, and the family and friends filled the dance floor, celebrating the couple’s love with laughter, song, and of course, plenty of champagne. As their wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing the heartfelt toasts, the unforgettable dance moves, and all the moments that made this reception a one-of-a-kind celebration. These candid moments—filled with emotion and joy—made for some of my favorite wedding photography shots, telling the story of a beautiful, multi-cultural celebration.
